Fall is coming! Swiss Conference in September

The 25th Meeting of the Swiss controller work groups on September 23 makes the prelude to the regional meetings of the International Controller Association (ICV) that take place every year in the fall. Variety of current controlling topics will be discussed under the title "Controlling-Transformation, Making Changes” in the Euler Auditorium of the Research Center of ABB in Daettwil by Baden.

Magnus Pabst, Head of Group Financial Controlling, Reporting and Planning, German Telekom AG, opens the conference with his presentation "Lean Planning using the ‘Campus' method”, an effective tool that enhances the quality of planning, communication and transparency, makes the planning process simplier and shorter and leads to a higher acceptance within the company.

Then Hugo Keune, Director of Finance, University Hospital Zurich focuses on the “Financial management of public hospitals” and shows the hospital "on the way to the company " as well as the market and competition in the hospital sector. He presents existing benchmarking and management performance indicators.

“Transformation controlling” in the SBB is the subject of Andrea Tranel, Head of Corporate Controlling, SBB AG. She speaks on the impact and opportunities for the controlling resulting from the transformation of the SBB to an integrated guided Bahn Group.

Edwin Wild, CFO of ELMA Group, presents in his presentation “Relocation of production to Eastern Europe” the challenges of the past few years in his company, such as "Make, Buy or transfer decisions". After insights into the implementation he presents the “Lessons Learned” by the company.

A highlight of the Swiss Controlling Meeting 2014 is the panel discussion "Big Data". The introductory speech "Information rules - challenges and potentials of Big Data" holds Prof. Dr. Andreas Seufert, Director of the Institute of Business Intelligence, Steinbeis University Berlin and Head of the expert group of the International Controller Association BI. Then he moderates the discussion with Anette Karth, Head Analytics & Reporting, F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG, Peter Münzenmayer, Head of Big Data & Smart Analytics Centre, Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd, Herbert Stauffer, executive director of barc Switzerland AG.
